Wardrobes with their shelves, desks with their drawers, and chests with their false bottoms are veritable organs of the secret psychological life. Indeed, without these ‚objects‘ and a few others in equally high favor, our intimate life would lack a model of intimacy. They are hybrid objects, subject objects. Like us, through us and for us, they have a quality of intimacy.
(Gaston Bachelard - the poetics of space)

Cabinet of emptiness is a handcarved object made from a single piece of cherry wood. The theoretical concepts of emptiness characterized by not having a specific space and a cabinet containing and protecting our personal belongings at a specific space merge in a physical object. The tree trunk is splitted by hand, hollowed out and carefully put together with small iron parts.
